Synopsis

The story of a lonely postman. He has no personal life and the only thing he does in his spare time is writing self-addressed postcards.
One day he finds out that a man to whom he used to deliver letters has died. So he decides to read the man’s letters, all written by the same woman who is concerned about him.
Moved by curiosity the postman gets to the dead man’s house. He reads other letters and replies the lady signing down the dead man’s name. Little by little the postman assumes the dead man’s life.

Director Philippe Barcinski

Philippe Barcinski works as a director, writer, prodicer and teacher.

His second feature film, Entre Vales, with Ângelo Antônio and special appearance of Daniel Hendler premiered in the second semester of 2013, selected for Première Brasil at Rio Film Festival 2012. A co-production with Uruguay and Germany, the film received financing from Ibermedia (Spain), Hubert Bals Fund (Holland), Film und Medien Stiftung NRW (germany).

His First festure, Não por Acaso, staring Rodrigo Santoro and Leonardo Medeiros and produced by Fernando Meirelles, was watched by 120.000 spectators in Brazil and received twelve awards, including the Silver Hugo in Chicago Festival's New Directors session and was part of the Sundance Screenwriters Lab where it received the Alfred Sloan Award.

Before that, Barcisnki directed five short-films, including A Janela AbertaPalíndromo and A Escada, winners of over fifty awards, selected for the maisn film festivals around the world such as Cannes (official selection), Berlin e Rotterdam and shown in TV channels like Sundance Channel, Channel Four e Chanel Plus.

Currently Barcinski teaches a master's class at USP where he graduated, specializing in screenwriting with Professos Jean-Claude Bernardet. He also develops other projects in filmmaking. Has coordinated Film School at Escola São Paulo, a film class at ESPM and the Laboratório travelling workshops through Claro Curtas project.
