Synopsis

The Princess Radar comes from a ballet written by Oswald de Andrade in 1942. The action goes through the centuries, from a "anthropophagic matriarchy" to the patriarchal society, ending at the machine age. The movie intends to give importance to a mythic and poetic vision of history. 

Director Roberto Moreira

Roberto Moreira is a Professor in screenwriting and directing at the University of São Paulo (USP), has a master's degree in Art History and a PhD by USP. He has written and directed several short films, selected by festivals like Locarno, Goteborg, Oberhausen, Brasilia and Gramado. He did an internship at Fabrica (Italy), a Benneton institution focused on communication researches. His first feature film, Contra Todos, was selected for the Berlin Film Festival 2004, won the Silver Firebird Award at Hong-Kong Film Festival, Best Picture Prize at Recife, Rio, Natal and Santa Maria da Feira Festivals, and other twenty-two national and international awards. He has directed the episodes A Fila from the series Cidade dos Homens, selected for Banff World Television Awards 2007 in the category Continuing Series, and the episode Nem Tudo é Relativo from the series Antônia, produced by O2 Filmes for Rede Globo de Televisão. In 2009 he directed the movie Quanto Dura o Amor?, awarded Best Film at the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival and Monaco Charity Film Festival. In 2012 he directed the TV series Pedro e Bianca, nominated for the Emmy Kids as Best Series. Moreira was also the president of the Film Industry Union of the State of Sao Paulo (SIAESP) from 2007 to 2011.
